CLOSED TESTING 101

The 14-day rule, explained.

This is what we explain to developers on WhatsApp every day, written down. Pick a chapter; the whole requirement is covered.

What does Google's 12-tester rule actually say?

You will meet the rule inside Play Console as a locked "Apply for production" step: publishing to closed testing works right away, but the production track stays closed until the console has counted at least 12 opted-in testers for 14 consecutive days.

The $25 registration fee you paid covers unlimited apps, but this testing gate is per app, so every new app on a new personal account walks the same road.

Why did Google introduce it?

Google introduced the closed testing requirement to cut the flood of low-quality apps and fraud. Real people testing on real devices, for two full weeks, is the strongest signal they accept.

Where it usually goes wrong

The classic failures: testers join but never install, testers install but uninstall after a day, or the same few people churn before day 14. Any of these resets the streak.

How our process avoids that

We assign 12+ verified testers with a history of completing full testing periods, stagger their daily usage, and monitor the streak every single day so a dropout never resets your clock.

What makes a tester count

A tester counts when they install your app through the Play Store testing link, keep it installed, and remain opted in. Devices must be real Android hardware, not emulators.

What you receive

A live dashboard, daily progress, and a final written testing report ranking bugs by severity — plus proven answers for Google's production questionnaire.

Going live, step by step

After day 14 you unlock "Apply for production". You answer a short questionnaire, Google reviews, and most apps go live within days. We hand you the exact answers.

Personal vs organization accounts

Organization (business) accounts can sometimes skip testing with a declaration — but most indie developers are on personal accounts, which face the full 14-day gate for every app.

How long does the whole thing take?

Testing itself is 14 consecutive days. Add 4-6 hours to start, a day or two for Play Console processing, and typically 2-7 days for the production review. Most clients are live within 3 weeks.

The decision: why it works

Google checks two numbers: testers (≥12) and days (≥14). When both are real and consistent, the production request is approved — our 99.9% success rate comes from never letting either number slip.

What if something goes wrong?

If Google rejects the production request, we retest for free — no new payment. If your app still cannot be approved, you get a full refund.

Pre-flight checklist

Upload your AAB, fill the store listing (at least 3 screenshots, a feature graphic, and a full description), set up the closed track, and send us the invite link. That is your ~7 minutes.

Glossary

Closed testing — a private Play track where only invited testers see your app. Opt-in — the tester accepted the invite. Consecutive days — days with at least one opted-in tester; any gap resets the counter.

COMPARE

Three ways to get 12 testers.

Two of them put your 14-day streak, and the $25 you paid Google, at risk. If you're comparing Android app testing services, here is the honest picture.

Weeks of work

Do it yourself

Ask friends, post in forums, chase people to keep the streak alive for two weeks.

  • WHAT IT COSTS — Free, but weeks of chasing
  • Friends uninstall after day 2
  • One dropout resets the 14-day streak
  • No report, no support, no guarantee
Account ban risk

Cheap tester panels

Automated bot farms selling "testers" that Google's Play Protect detects quickly.

  • WHAT IT COSTS — $5-15, plus the risk
  • Bot clicks don't count as real testers
  • Account suspension risk
  • No dashboard, no report, no refund

FAQ

Asked before every order.

If yours isn't here, ask us directly. A human answers, fast.

No. Using real people to test your app is exactly what Google wants. Google does not prohibit using a testing service — every tester is a real human with a real device who opts in voluntarily, exactly like a friend you asked to test.

Google requires personal-account apps to run a closed test with at least 12 opted-in testers for 14 consecutive days before the production track unlocks. It is a per-app gate.

You choose between a free retest (we run the full 14 days again at no cost) or a full refund. No questions asked.

Yes. Every tester is a real person on a real Android device, in their own country, using their own Play Store account. No emulators, no bots, no automation.

No. Google only counts the number of testers and consecutive days — the countries of the testers do not matter for the requirement. Most of our testers are in the US, UK, Canada, and Europe.

Internal testing is limited to 100 testers and does NOT count toward the 12-tester requirement. Only closed testing (or open testing) days count toward the 14-day streak.

Testing starts 4-6 hours after your order. You get your tester list immediately after checkout, and we need your Play Console invite link to begin.

You paste the tester emails we send into your closed-track tester list in Play Console, then share the invite link with us. It takes about 7 minutes.

Nothing. Our testers install and use your app daily. You watch progress live from your dashboard. We handle any hiccup on our side.

The production track unlocks. You apply, we give you the questionnaire answers, and Google reviews. Most apps go live within a few days after that.

12 verified testers for 14 consecutive days, a live tracking dashboard, daily progress, a written testing report, and a money-back guarantee. Everything you need to pass the requirement.

We accept bKash, Rocket, Nagad, Binance, bank transfer, Fiverr, Upwork, and Western Union. All payments are processed manually — you will receive the exact payment details after checkout.

Yes. If you have an existing closed test that was rejected or is stuck, we can take over, run the full 14 days with fresh testers, and get you to production.

Yes. Each app runs its own 14-day test. Contact us for multi-app discounts.
